Our regular entertainers ….. So you want to know what they are like !
Ritchie Elwood – Playing the saxophone and keyboards, starting with mainly the sounds of the 80’s. He will bring us right up to date with his soulful sounds. It is always a fantastic atmosphere when he is on and the bar soon fills up.
The Joey Gordon Experience – The alternative DJ. He has certainly created his own following. Will play your requests all night and you will be sure to be entertained.
Robbie G – Robbie G is one of the main resident DJ’s at the Hotel and since the introduction of his 60’s nights in the Barons bar our customers have been delighted and soon want to know when he will be back on. Fancy dress always welcome.
Stevie Squeeze – A fantastic entertainer who has proved to be so popular and has been demanded back by our customers. Plays the squeeze box and you will know all the songs. Good for a sing-a-long but be early due to his popularity.
The Jazz Festival – (July only) Throughout the jazz festival weekend in July we always have jazz in the barons at lunchtime Fri/Sat & Sun. Although the jazz bands and singers will vary each year it is always packed out and extremely well supported.
Southport Swords – The local ‘Long Sword Dancing Groupe’ always officially open our May beer festival on May 1st at 6am. Fascinating to watch but be aware they do like to use volunteers (Good fun). They pop in on St Davids Day and dance with Leeks and on St George’s Day to kill the nasty dragon and occasionally throughout the summer.
Live Music - Once a month, usually on a Friday night we put live music on in the Barons. In the past we have had various artists on including; Jo Jo Savage, Sally Anne Harman and Steve Greenwood. These nights usually get very busy so it is wise to arrive early.
